Principal News 11/26/25
Good afternoon, Emerald Heights Families,
As we head into the Thanksgiving break, I want to take a moment to share my gratitude for this community. I’m so thankful for the partnership we have with our families and for the joy your children bring to our school every day. It truly is a privilege to work with such wonderful students.
🦃 Thanksgiving Break
A reminder that there is no school tomorrow or for the rest of the week in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope the long weekend brings time to rest, connect, and enjoy the holiday with your loved ones.
🎶 3rd Grade Holiday Performance
Next week, our 3rd graders will take the stage for their holiday performance on Wednesday, December 3 at 6:00 PM. Students should plan to arrive at 5:30 PM. It’s sure to be a wonderful evening, and they can't wait to share it with you. We hope to see you there.
📚 Emerald Heights Book Fair
We’re excited to share that our Emerald Heights Book Fair is coming up on Friday, December 5th from 4:00–7:00 PM at the Silverdale Barnes & Noble.
The event will include teacher guest readers, a bookmark-making station, voting for our Student Character Sweater Contest, and a Library Wishlist Table.
You can join us in person or shop online using our Book Fair ID: 12914248. Emerald Heights receives a percentage of all sales—both in-store and online—from 12/5–12/11, which directly supports new books for our library.
📘 PTA Update
Our PTA is hosting a fun, free family event for all ages on Thursday, January 15th from 6:00–7:00 PM in the school gym. To help make this event a success, we are collecting USED books in good condition for ages 0–adult. A donation box is located in the main hallway near the office.
Thank you for supporting this wonderful community event—more details to come soon!
📝 PTA Meeting
Our next PTA meeting will be held on Monday, December 1st from 4:15–5:30 PM in the school library. All are welcome, and we hope to see you there.
🙋 Volunteers Needed
For the upcoming Book Fair on December 5th, we are looking for two volunteers between 4:00–7:00 PM. If interested, please email ckempta@gmail.com.
